Curodont®
Treat early cavities—without the drill. Curodont helps your child's teeth repair themselves naturally, offering a new option for treating early decay before a filling is needed.
Curodont® is an innovative, non-invasive treatment that helps repair very early tooth decay before a cavity forms. Rather than drilling or placing a filling, Curodont works by encouraging the tooth to naturally rebuild lost enamel.
Early cavities begin as areas where minerals have been lost from the enamel, creating "white spot lesions." Curodont contains a specially designed peptide that creates a framework within the lesion, allowing calcium and phosphate from saliva to remineralize and strengthen the tooth from within.
Curodont is painless, requires no drilling or numbing, and can often stop early decay from progressing into a cavity that requires a filling.
What happens during treatment?
Treatment with Curodont is quick, comfortable, and completed right in our office.
- The tooth is cleaned and isolated to keep it dry.
- The surface of the tooth is prepared using a gentle conditioning solution.
- Curodont is carefully applied to the affected area with a small applicator.
- The material is allowed to penetrate the early lesion.
- Patients should avoid eating or drinking for approximately 30 minutes after treatment.
Why use Curodont?
We recommend Curodont for children and teens who have:
- Very early cavities that have not yet formed a hole in the tooth
- White spot lesions caused by early enamel demineralization
- Early signs of decay identified during routine examinations or on dental x-rays
- An opportunity to treat decay conservatively before a filling becomes necessary
The Advantages of Curodont
- Helps regenerate and strengthen enamel naturally
- Treats early decay without drilling or injections
- Can delay or eliminate the need for fillings when used appropriately
- Painless and non-invasive
- Preserves healthy tooth structure
- Ideal for children and teens who may be anxious about dental treatment
- Backed by clinical research demonstrating its effectiveness for treating early enamel lesions
Please note: Curodont is only effective for very early stages of tooth decay before a cavity has formed. If decay has progressed into a true cavity, a traditional restoration (filling or crown) may still be necessary.
